Campus Life

Diversity enriches the KAIST community. It expands the realms of opportunities for making the world better. A thriving residential campus provides the KAIST community with opportunities to develop creative minds and passionate souls. KAIST endeavors to offer an interactive and engaging environment to fully benefit research and learning activities. KAIST continues to create an environment that helps KAISTians realize their dreams.

Living in KAIST

KAIST offers the best facilities, programs, and services for KAIST community members’ well-being. Nearly all undergraduates and graduates reside in 21 campus-housing complexes. Eight dining halls across the campus give them a wide variety of choices for their diet. State-of the-art facilities such as the Lyu Keun-Chul Sports Complex offer diverse programs for health and wellness. International Scholar and Students Services (ISSS) Team provides various types of support for the international community at KAIST, including immigration and settling services, counseling, as well as language and culture programs and events.

Caring

Caring is the one of the prime value KAIST pursues. KAIST believes diversity enriches our community and makes us stronger and more creative. KAIST supports creative talents across the globe regardless of region, religion, gender, and age. KAIST continues to ensure human rights, a universal value we all need to uphold on our campus. The Counseling Center, Stress Clinic, and Ombudsperson help the community members ease their tensions and resolve any conflicts.

Students Organizations and Clubs

A diverse range of activities infuse students’ school spirit and bind them together. Student clubs have contributed to develop the culture of our university and help make the KAIST community more dynamic.

Cultural Events

A variety of cultural events hosted at KAIST all year round are open to the KAIST community as well as to the public. Events such as classical concerts, ballets, traditional Korean music and dance, musical, and rock concerts drew more than 500,000 people since the start of the cultural event program in 1986. Our campus brims with students’ dynamic energy during strawberry festival in the spring, the Taewool festival in the summer, and the KAIST-Postech science war in the autumn.

Healthcare and Welfare Facilities

KAIST clinic, the Pappalardo Center delivers medical care for the KAIST community and their family members. An on-campus health office and pharmacy are accessible even late at night and during the weekends. The KAIST day care center provides childcare services for students, faculty, and staff members.

Amenities

The campus provides all the amenities you would expect to find in a small town including banks, bookstores, cafés, cleaners, a postal office, hair salons, and convenient stores carrying snacks and a variety of other convenient items.
