An Invitation to apply for the Position of President of KAIST
¡à KAIST invites a president who will lead KAIST to be the world-leading best science and
technology university in the 21st century.
¡Û KAIST, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, was first set up as Korea's
first research-oriented graduate school in 1971 and, ever since, it has established
a system of education and research for gifted students of bachelor's, master's
and doctoral program. Furthermore, by developing highly qualified scientists
and engineers, conducting the state-of-the-art research, and serving as home
for many venture companies, KAIST has established itself as a research-oriented
university of the nation.
¡Û Now, KAIST is seeking a president with vision and leadership : a president who will,
based on the experience and achievements KAIST has accumulated over the
last 39 years, lead KAIST to be the best science and technology university in the world.
¡Þ Eligibility
¢º A person of character and capacity to represent KAIST
¢º A person who does not fall under the categories of disqualified persons stated
in the KAIST regulation (Please refer to the attachment)

¢º Completed “Personal Profile” (Please use the attached form)
¢º Essay on your view on future managerial and developmental direction of KAIST
(within 5 pages of A4-size paper)
