Industry-Academy Public Lecture [Neutron Small-Angle Scattering and Reflectometry]
KAIST Basic Atomic Energy Research Institute (BAERI) will held ¡®an industry-academy public lecture on Neutron Small-Angle Scattering and Reflectometry (SANS/ REF)¡¯ under the auspices of Korean Research Society of Neutron Beam Utilization and HANARO Utilization Research Group of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI).
I hope many researchers and graduate students will participate in the lectures.
¢º Title: Winter School on Neutron Small-Angle Scattering and Reflectometry
¢º Date: January 9 (Tue) - 11 (Thu), 2007
¢º Venue: Cyber Space (Classroom No. 2419), KAIST Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering
¢º Website: http://neutron.kaist.ac.kr/SANS_REF_WinterSchool
¢º Organizer: BAERI of KAIST Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering
¢º Sponsors: Korean Research Society of Neutron Beam Utilization
HANARO Utilization Research Group of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI)
¢º Contents:
The present industry-academy public lectures have been established to provide a systematic education on the fundamental principles, experimental methods, result analysis, etc. of Neutron Small-Angle Scattering (SANS) and Reflectometry (REF), which play a very important role in the structural analysis of nano substances, to researchers who are interested in nano substance researches using neutrons. Particularly, the present lectures stress hands-on experience, through which trainees can have a chance of practical analysis of experiment data with fundamental theory classes, to assist the trainees¡¯ substantial understanding and application of neutron scattering researches.
For this purpose, our staffs have tried to reflect our experiences at Neutron Summer School, which has been held for the past several years at NIST Center for Neutron Research in the U.S., which is a world-famous neutron research center, and composed out teaching staff with top experts from home and abroad, who are performing SANS and REF researches by using advanced neutron research equipment of NIST and have lectured at NIST Summer School. Therefore, the present industry-academy lectures will be substantial helps for researchers who are interested in nano structure analysis using SANS and REF, but, suffering from the lack of experiences.
