¡°Public Lecture - Modal Analysis¡±

The Center for Noise and Vibration Control (NOVIC) will be hosting a public lecture on ¡°Modal Analysis: Theory, Testing and Applications¡±.

¢º Topic: Modal Analysis: Theory, Testing and Applications

¢º Date: July 2 (Mon) - 6 (Friday), 2007

¢º Place: Classroom No. 1122, Mechanical Engineering B/D (N7), KAIST

¢º Web site: http://novic.kaist.ac.kr

¢º Organized by: Center for Noise and Vibration Control (NOVIC)

¢º Contents:

Modal analysis is a method to systematically discover and solve noise and vibration problems in mechanical systems or structures and is essentially applied at almost all processes, from development and design of new products to redesign for performance improvement as well as dynamic characteristics analysis, operating condition evaluation and diagnosis of existing systems, to treat noise and vibration problems. In addition, the development of signal-measuring and collecting technologies and the generalization of high-performance and low-price computer technologies have rapidly expanded its uses. KAIST Center for Noise and Vibration Control (NOVIC) has yearly opened lectures on noise and vibration control since 1983, thereby providing further advanced technical information to about 1,200 professionals. Based on such long and rich experiences, the NOVIC accepts consistently developing recent modal analytic methods and improves educational performances. The lecture aims to offer focused lectures on modal analysis to noise and vibration control experts to raise their capabilities to solve actual problems effectively.

¢º Participation fee: 700,000 won (400,000 won for students)
