Health Check
Health check is usually conducted at the beginning of each semester for all students. If you missed it, you must go to the Sun Hospital by yourself. It is free to have health check at school whereas you have to pay 30,000 won in the hospital.
Students are required to pass health check which is conducted at the beginning of every semester. If the student fails in this test, he or she will not be permitted to use any public facility on KAIST campus.

National Health Insurance(NHI)
National Health Insurance (NHI)
In Korea, all people subscribe to the national medical insurance system for which monthly fees are paid. When you receive treatment at a hospital, you pay 30% of the cost of treatment, and the rest is paid by the National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC). Foreigners may also enjoy the benefits of national health insurance. Korea requires that all foreign residents join the country’s medical insurance system.
You are qualified to apply to NHIC at any time after you have registered as a foreign resident. Apply at the Yuseong Branch of the National Health Insurance Corporation (10-minute ride by taxi from KAIST).
