Application

Applications for on-campus dormitories and Noori Hall can be made online via KAIST Web site (log on to http://kds.kaist.ac.kr with your portal ID). Application period is short (several days around the end of semester) and is announced in the school calendar at the beginning of the school year. It might be difficult for foreign students to apply by themselves as the Web site is mainly in Korean so it is advisable to seek help from your colleagues.

All applications go through a computerized balloting system as the combined capacity of dormitories is not enough to accommodate all who need them. Note that competition for “good room” is very high so it depends on your “luck.” The results then will be announced within a few days and you have less than a week to pack up and move in. Therefore, it is very important to keep an eye on application dates and do it on time.

For inquiries, please contact Mrs. Kim jung lae at Student Welfare Services Team.

Accommodation for Visitors

Visitors can meet residents at lounges, but the dormitory deans can designate specific places for meeting for some special occasions. Dormitory deans have duties to record visiting time and verify visitors’ identifications, and visitors should follow their instructions.

Visitors can meet residents after showing their identification (student cards, resident registration cards, driver's license, etc.) to dormitory deans.
