Basics to Prevention of Accidents

• Only keep required chemicals in lab
• When handling flammable chemicals and gas, user should be familiar with the nature of these products so that in ...event of accidents, users will know counter actions
• Do not activate experiment equipment and play around with fellow students ...and students should not move about during experiments
• Get rid of dangerous materials beforehand
• Users should hook equipment to safe device or seek assistant from professionals
• Be familiar with exits and location of fire extinguisher
• Be familiar with how to use extinguisher
• Bring extinguisher to place of fire.
• Pull out safety pin
• Working against the wind, aim hose at fire and pull tightly on handle
• When chemical is emitted, move hose around
• If the hose is directed at the same direction as the wind, there will increased danger of
  bigger fire and physical harm
