Bicycle

One of the fastest and most efficient modes of transport in Daejeon is the bicycle. Most KAIST students use bicycles when traveling around campus. Due to legislation by Daejeon’s municipal government, the streets of the city, particularly in Yuseong district, are extremely bicycle-friendly. Thanks to Korea’s hilly topography, it is also very fun to explore the landscape on bike.

You can buy a new or used bicycle from KAIST Bicycle Shop (behind Undergraduate Library N11). The owner also offers free checkup service and repair (you should pay for parts) for all bikes purchased on campus. He cannot speak English so bring a Korean friend with you in a complex case.

For broader choice, students can visit bicycle stores near KAIST, Homever and other discount outlets or online shopping Web sites.
