Summary:
As an in-situ, in-process NDT system for aerospace structures, state-of-the-art mobile Pulse-Echo Ultrasonic Propagation Imaging system has been successfully developed and produced to measure through-thickness utlrasonic waves up to 2500 points for three dimensional visualization. Proof of concept on space launch vehicle(KSLV-II) composite fuselage, military cargo aircraft(CN-235) control surface, F-16 brake disk, and guided weapon composite fuselage have been completed and this system also passed Lockheed Martin F-16 standard reference test owned by Korean Air Force. Two years of relentless development has led to successful distribution of the system to Air Force Logistics Command and Opto-Electro-Structural Lab(OESL) in Aerospace Engineering department was chosen as Boeing-KAIST Technical Contact lab in February 2016 to receive two years of grant.
