KAIST-NYUEducational Opportunities

NYU and KAIST are developing a range of dual- and joint-degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, along with study away opportunities.

Studying Away...

At KAIST

Starting in Spring 2024, NYU undergraduates will be able to spend a semester away at KAIST’s beautiful 350-acre campus in Daejeon, South Korea, with planned class offerings in culture technology and emerging media, industrial design, and artificial intelligence, along with many other fields. Classes are taught in English.

NYU students interested in studying away at KAIST can email the Office of Global Programs in New York.

At NYU

Starting in Fall 2023, KAIST undergraduates can spend a semester studying at NYU, with a huge range of classes available in the Tandon School of Engineering, Stern School of Business, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, College of Arts and Science, and others. Unique to this program, students may fulfill a KAIST degree requirement by completing the curriculum of an approved NYU minor.

Dual Degrees

KAIST and NYU have begun to develop a number of dual-degree programs at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. These programs will allow students to complete the requirements for two degrees—one from each institution—in reduced time and with a unique cross-continental profile.

Future Vision

The two universities aim to craft a cutting-edge approach to interdisciplinary, socially and globally minded, problem-driven engineering education that will prepare emerging scientists to use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven techniques to model and solve real-world problems in the 21st century. Grounded in a philosophical and ethical framework, this education will combine academic strengths from both institutions. It will be coupled with access to unparalleled industrial partnerships and a global network of research and teaching facilities. Students will receive an experience available only at NYU and KAIST.
